I work on data platforms — pipelines, warehouses, and the models that sit on top of them. Seven years in, mostly with retail and media companies, and I've spent more of that time cleaning up other people's ingestion than building models, which I think is normal and nobody warns you about. I'm more interested in whether a number can be trusted than in squeezing another point of accuracy out of it. I did a statistics degree and came into engineering sideways, so I'm still filling gaps in things a computer science graduate would find obvious. Outside work I build small things with data I care about, usually badly and usually in a weekend.
