Product designer who codes a bit — enough to build what I design and to have realistic arguments with engineers about what it costs. Two and a half years in, all of it on one HR software team, which means I know one product very deeply and not much else. Most of my time goes to the unglamorous end of design: forms, empty states, error messages, the tenth variation of a table. I care more about whether something is legible to a tired person than whether it looks impressive in a portfolio. I'm still working out how much of what I know generalises, so I've been building small things on my own to find out.
